ARCHETYPES OF HEROES

The Oracle-Isaac Mendez

An oracle is given a blessed curse; he is the one who sees and paints the future as it could be, as it should be, and as it is meant to be. The lines of reality and vision blur into nothing, yet span across all. His predictions are the given Word of fate; his predictions are divination, no matter what sin flows in his veins. He does not preach his visions, yet many seek them; they come to him for guidance and for advice on what course of action to take, and what stands to make. And it is in these visits that he meets his untimely end, as he has always seen it.

because panda created her own darlings and i told her about mine so we stuffed ‘em together

There are altogether three branches (as far as we know) of the Darling family. Christopher, Peter and Edward were the three Darling sons; however, when Edward was found to be magical and sent to Hogwarts, Christopher and Peter began to distance themselves from him, ultimately estranging the branches of the family. When Edward went to New York, Christopher and Peter stayed in England, building their homes in the countryside. All the same, they couldn’t keep the magic out of their family, since their children - Cepheus, Delphinus, Lyra, Cygnus, Ariadne, Asterius and Andromeda - all turned out to be magical from a very young age.

Edward’s branch of the Darlings hail from New York, but they immigrated to London when Edward Jr. was ten years old, and all the Darling children went to Hogwarts.

Meet the Darlings! Edward Darling edition.

Plots: The Darling children are different from their parents, and most of them are on very good terms with their cousins. They find their parents’ refusal to look past magical and non-magical blood pretty childish. But a few - namely Asterius and Cepheus - are disinclined to like their cousins because of the so-called ‘family feud’ that took place earlier.

(GREEK MYTHOLOGY series):

Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, king and queen of the kingdom Ethiopia.
Her mother Cassiopeia boasted that she was more beautiful than the Nereids, the nymph-daughters of the sea god Nereus and often seen accompanying Poseidon. To punish the Queen for her arrogance, Poseidon, brother to Zeus and god of the Sea, sent a sea monster (Cetus) to ravage the coast of Ethiopia including the kingdom of the vain Queen. The desperate King consulted the Oracle of Apollo, who announced that no respite would be found until the king sacrificed his virgin daughter Andromeda to the monster. She was chained naked to a rock on the coast.

Perseus was returning from having slain the Gorgon Medusa, he found Andromeda and slew Cetus by turning him to stone. He set her free, and married her in spite of Andromeda having been previously promised to her uncle Phineus. At the wedding a quarrel took place between the rivals, and Phineus was turned to stone by the sight of the Gorgon’s head.
Perseus and Andromeda had seven sons: Perseides, Perses, Alcaeus, Heleus, Mestor, Sthenelus, and Electryon, and one daughter, Gorgophone. Their descendants ruled Mycenae from Electryon down to Eurystheus, after whom Atreus attained the kingdom, and would also include the great hero Heracles.

When she died, Andromeda was hung in the sky as a constellation. (x)

relationships you shouldn’t overlook ↳ codependent!best friends

you're not complete without each other, and that should terrify you, but you can't bring yourself to care

they’ve known each other forever. fast friends since the day she hit him over the head and stole his favorite toy. inseparable since five years old, they’re everything to each other. an anchor, a respite, a place of hope and love. reassuring in a way that is hard to imagine. he spends more time curled up in her living room than he does in his own home. they take care of each other, that will never change.

they are ever present in each other’s lives. they are the only thing that really matters. and they haven’t realized how other friends, family, people have faded into the background of their lives. have become nothing more than a hinderance in the pursuit of each other’s happiness.

but how people talk. how weird, they say, those two are. stuck forever by the other’s side.
they don’t give a shit.

but how quickly it has stumbled out of control, in a way they cannot see. it’s gotten to a point where they can’t live without the other. can’t function. can’t feel. can’t breath. everything they know is tied down to this one person, one figure. they cannot even imagine the consequences that wait for them.

COMPLETE HOGWARTS HOUSE EVALUATION : 002. HUFFLEPUFF

G e n e r a l - P e r s o n a l i t y

Hufflepuffs, generally, are pacifists. They have an extreme dislike for conflict, and would rather solve things through words and common sense, rather than resort to violence. They are the children of nature, and feel a strong connection to it, spiritually. They feel a much stronger connection to animals and the Earth, rather than other people. This is why they oppose of violence so much, because in the long run, it hurts these factors more than it does anything else, and to them, this upsets the balance of nature. They believe strongly in ultimate beauty, within the world, within the soul and within the universe. They are easily upset, though they will rarely show it, as they feel like this would cause unneeded stress and drama to others. They value everyone else above themselves, and rarely wish harm on any. At their worst, Hufflepuffs are a force to be reckoned with, as if they were mother nature herself, they are stronger when scorned, do not take them for shrinking violets due to their nice demeanor.

P o s i t i v e - & - N e g a t i v e - T r a i t s

Hufflepuffs are very likable in that they have many positive traits. They are kind and giving, healers in their nature. They wish only the best for everyone, and are often optimists. They are not necessarily social butterflies to the degree a Gryffindor may be, but once they begin to be comfortable in a setting, they are warm and generally happy in their circle of friends.

They are also very loyal and strong, though they may not be straightforward and blunt. They tend to be good emotional absorbents, meaning they can take it all that you are feeling, positive and negative, and understand it. This can go one of two ways. If a Hufflepuff likes you, which generally they will give you the benefit of the doubt, they will be empathetic and try to use this to help you. If, for some reason, you betray or upset a Hufflepuff, do not think they will just go sulk, this is simply how their darker and more negative side comes out. They know all your strengths and weaknesses, and they kept them in storage in their kindness, but once you’ve ripped away their good nature, they will use them against you, picking at that scab on your mind. Never, ever think a Hufflepuff is weak, nor underestimate them. You will regret the repercussions.

Another negative trait of Hufflepuffs can be their habitual tendency to try and be what they think others need them to be. They will try and form themselves to what they think someone wants them to be in order for the other person or peoples to be happy. This is not something they should try, as expression and their free spirit is what makes the Hufflepuff who they truly are.

C o m m o n - S t a r - S i g n s

A very common star or sun sign for a Hufflepuff is generally Cancer, as both have the qualities of peacemakers and healers. They love people and taking care of them. They combine well in this manner because they have no conflicting feelings about their empathy, they just want to do onto others as they would want done onto them. Pisces is also very common among Hufflepuffs, as both are more reserved, but full of creativity and imagination.

H o b b i e s

Hufflepuffs tend to hobbies that make them feel as though they are making the world a better place, in some form or another. This varies greatly, it can be something as large as volunteer work or helping care for children or animals, and other times it can be something that they, as an individual, see as bettering the world. This means it could be gardening, drawing, writing, the possibilities of hobbies and talents for Hufflepuffs are endless. It is a matter of what branch of nature and Earth they connect with as an individual, and what brings out their true spirit.

F r i e n d s h i p s

Hufflepuffs have many acquaintances, rather than a large circle of friends. They get along with most people from a distance, and they prefer it this way. They have no need to get close to people, because their sense and observation of everything around them shows them what a person feels, what they are thinking, and they don’t need to talk to them to understand their view points. They are perfectly comfortable knowing many people but only having a few close, true friends. In this case, they are often the type of friends who will drive you home when you’re drunk, or bring you something of you don’t feel well. They love random acts of kindness toward their closest friends, because they bring out the motherly side in them. Due to their avoidance of conflict, friendships for Hufflepuffs can last for a long time.

I n t i m a t e - R e l a t i o n s h i p s

Intimate relationships for a Hufflepuff can be a difficult thing. That is because, as much as they don’t want to admit it, they avoid the real world, and that includes the struggles of trying to keep a stable romance with someone. They don’t want to argue, even when it may sometimes be necessary, they don’t want to now where the relationship is going, they just want to know that it goes, and be happy with it in this way. This causes them to have commitment problems, because while they are very nurturing, they tend to view people more as projects or children, rather than as a partner, which can be a majour souring component in a relationship.

T y p o l o g y

The average typology for a Hufflepuff is ESFP (Extrovert-Sensing-Feeling-Perceptive). This varies for everyone, of course, but by Hufflepuffs love people, and tend to feel everything around them, and connect to it deeply.

A b n o r m a l - P s y c h o l o g y

Note: This section of the analysis is not diagnosis, just a common observation. Do not take it as a diagnosis, nor ask me to diagnose you. If you believe you may have a disorder of some kind and are concerned about it, please seek a professional.

Hufflepuffs are, above all else, obsessively avoidant.  This can get to the point of a disorder, because it can affect their daily lives. They may miss opportunities because of how much order they want to keep around them, and by making sure everything is as perfect as they want it to be. If something is out of place, they feel dangerously uncomfortable, and wish they could remedy it, but feel absolutely helpless as to how. They also may have what could be considered to some as odd ways of thinking, or eccentric, which is common in both them and Ravenclaws. There is nothing wrong with this and it isn’t necessarily a disorder of any kind, they just have unique perceptions on things that others may not see or understand.

R e l i g i o u s - V i e w s

Hufflepuffs are very spiritual, whether they believe in any form of God or deity or not. They can just be spiritual within their own mind and heart, and this works just find for them as well. Whatever it is they may believe, they are incredibly comfortable with it, and are just as comfortable with you thinking what you think. They are not one to argue, and believe in all paths to God and/or spiritual wholeness.

P o l i t i c a l - V i e w s

There will be no attempts here to try and sort any house into any particular political party, but simply how they act within parties. Hufflepuffs rarely travel toward politics, as they have no need for them. The thought of debate is lost on them, as they can’t see what is wrong with everyone having their own opinion and way of life, and leaving it at that. They see politics simply as a waste of time and energy, though when it comes to specific issues, they will gladly vote on what they think is right.

C a r e e r s

Common career and occupational choices among Hufflepuffs are ones where their inner healer shines through. They are often nurses, caretakers, or other things in the medical field. The more intuitive Hufflepuff may also branch toward Psychology or Sociology, because their excelled ability with empathy is great for this field. They also often appreciate the arts, often poetry and drawing or painting.

I d e a l - E n v i r o n m e n t

The ideal environment for a Hufflepuff is one where they feel full wholeness and correctness, as everything needs to fit in their order. They are intellectual and spiritual nomads, looking for this place, and when they find it, they know it immediately, and stay there. Literally speaking, the environment they tend toward is usually on the softer side, often cold and snowy or at times rainy, something calming yet equally beautiful.

S e l f - P e r c e p t i o n

Hufflepuffs view themselves as good people, and that is as simply as they put it. They try not to look into the negative aspects of their self, as when they do they tend to feel put down, like they are unworthy of where they have gotten in life. So they focus on the positive, and see themselves as happy and proper people in society.

L i f e - M i s s i o n

The life mission of a Hufflepuff is to help others, kill with kindness, and ultimately, reach a state of nirvana.

COMPLETE HOGWARTS HOUSE EVALUATION : 001. GRYFFINDOR

G e n e r a l - P e r s o n a l i t y

The traits stated for Gryffindors are bravery, chivalry and nerve. This stands very true deep into their heart, and their curse in life is that they really would die for something they truly love, or do anything they could to be sure they are safe. However, Gryffindors vary in their way of showing this passion. Some are up front, kind and caring though at times coming onto very strong. This is a loveable thing, though, and these are the Gryffindors that often are popular, having many friends and admirers. Then, there are the others, who are a bit rough around the edges. It doesn’t change what is in their heart, it simply means that they are more opinionated than most, and somewhere in their past someone told them that being as emotional as they are is a bad thing, so they hide it. They try to keep their emotions at bay and just show how strong they are, how incapable they are of breaking. These are the Gryffindors that put up a wall, and if you can connect with them, this wall falls easily.

P o s i t i v e - & - N e g a t i v e - T r a i t s

The most positive of traits in Gryffindors are their purity. This doesn’t mean that they are all around perfect and good, it just means they have high moral standards, and instinctively want to do the right thing. Whether the right thing is really the right thing, that is left up to debate, but it is what feels correct to them, and it works for them. The positive aspects of this instinct are their bravery and strong will, because Gryffindors are often doers, not thinkers. They will not sit and weigh the aspects of what is best for them, they only understand a need and wish to fulfill it, no matter the costs.

Gryffindors are, of course, undoubtedly loyal, and this is another positive aspect of them. They are not the type of people to give up on you and run away when the going gets rough, they will stick with you until the very end. If you are in a hard place and need someone to carry you through it, a Gryffindor is ideal to befriend. That said, this can also greatly reflect a negative part of them, as their need to stick with others and help them can cause them to forget themselves. A Gryffindor can only forget their own needs for a certain amount of time, before the lion begins to get restless, and the inner growing roar of their emotions begins to pool into their stomach. Gryffindors are probably the most emotional of all of the houses, so they need an outlet, and if they can’t get one, their impulsive attitude can back up on them, and they will lash out, doing and saying things they will later regret.

Gryffindors have a tendency to put their foot in their mouth, because they do not often think before they speak. Their intentions are not often to truly hurt another person, they are just the type of people the get caught in the moment, in the web of the environment, and this can cause them to do things they don’t really intend. Their regrets hurt them very often, because once they have time to actually think about them, their emotions take hold and their guilt is nearly unbearable. This is why lions often go nonstop, to make sure they don’t have to feel those unwanted feelings.

C o m m o n - S t a r - S i g n s

A very common star or sun sign for a Gryffindor is, you guessed it, a Leo. This is because the lions work well together, forming a family in your inner workings, in casing your heart in a shield of love, bravery and friendship. For more driven Gryffindors, Aries is also a common sign, as well as Aquarius and Sagittarius.

H o b b i e s

Gryffindors are unstoppable forces, generally very active in their ways. Adventure becomes them, and they are always looking for new and interesting ways to feel free and beautiful. They are often the first ones to give a go at more risky forms of fun, such as sky diving or rock climbing. They are also the most athletic of all the houses, especially when it comes to team sports, as they love the idea of collaboration and working together toward a common goal. The sports they very often tend to are basketball, baseball/softball, and volleyball. Other non-athletic hobbies that are common for Gryffindors are non-fiction writing (sometimes for publication, such as journalism), scary movie marathons and meddling into some household science.

F r i e n d s h i p s

Gryffindors can make some of the best friends, while simultaneously making some of the worst. They are, at their best, loyal and loving, willing to do anything for you. Friendship is a very important matter to them, as they consider their friends to be part of their family, and expect the very same in return. So, when they feel betrayed, it hits them hard, and their impulsive attributes can cause them to do things they don’t mean. They are the type to spread rumours that are untrue when they are hurt, or tell secrets you entrusted them with, simply so you can feel as hurt as they do. Though they may often judge Slytherins for it, Gryffindors are just as well adjusted to the ideal of an eye for an eye. They make fun friends, but keep watch of what you say, you may regret it later.

I n t i m a t e - R e l a t i o n s h i p s

The way a Gryffindor behaves in a romantic relationship is very similar to the way they behave in a friendship, but it is toned down slightly, rather than increased, as they hold friends above romance. They are often committed when happy, and will hold you high on their pedestal, loving you with all their heart. If you hurt them, they may lash out in a moment of emotional heartbreak, but once they calm down they will apologize and love you all the same, if you will have them. The problem with relationships with Gryffindors is that they are incredibly independent in their mindset, and do not think highly of the idea of sharing, which is ideal in a relationship. They also do not value romance as their number one priority, so if you want someone who is there for you and nothing more, it ain’t them, babe.

T y p o l o g y

The average typology for a Gryffindor is ESFJ (Extrovert-Sensing-Feeling-Judging). This varies for everyone, of course, but by nature Gryffindors are often outgoing and social, with high empathy levels and moral standards. They love others, but also hold themselves above the rest without realizing it.

A b n o r m a l - P s y c h o l o g y

Note: This section of the analysis is not diagnosis, just a common observation. Do not take it as a diagnosis, nor ask me to diagnose you. If you believe you may have a disorder of some kind and are concerned about it, please seek a professional.

Gryffindors can have a tendency to be unconsciously narcissistic, thinking they are superior and putting others down, whilst consistently patting themselves on the back. They are also very prone to black and white (borderline) thinking, simply believing what they believe, and coldly opposing of any opinions that are not their own. Gryffindors are more likely to have attention span problems, as they do not always find academics to their liking, and may space out thinking of things that concern them, rather than paying attention to what they need to know. Gryffindors are rarely prone to depression but when they begin to feel down, they become incredibly dependent, almost to the stage of being clingy toward their friends. If you know a Gryffindor acting like this, reassure them that they are loved and special, and ask them what is bothering them. If they are allowed to vent, their mood will improve tenfold.

R e l i g i o u s - V i e w s

Since Gryffindors are so strongly tied to their family, it is common for them to believe whatever it is they are raised into. Most people do this, but Gryffindors often stick with it, rather than moving along to their own path. They feel if they don’t stick to what they were told as a child to believe, they are betraying their family somehow, which sounds to them like first-degree murder. If they have doubts about the beliefs they were raised into, they will not voice them, simply settling into an agnostic view and staying comfortable in that manner, not choosing what to believe or not believe.

P o l i t i c a l - V i e w s

There will be no attempts here to try and sort any house into any particular political party, but simply how they act within parties. Gryffindors tend to be very political, as their views are incredibly strong and politics are an outlet for them to voice themselves. In fact, it is quite often that politicians are Gryffindors, as they feel comfortable with the debate and social media of it all. Regardless, Gryffindors thrive off of the controversy, and will argue with you for hours if you allow them to, and their opinion will never waver, though they may make you reconsider yours. They just like to watch you quiver, and make it known what they think.

C a r e e r s

Common career and occupational choices among Gryffindors are the ones that they can have socialization in, while remaining strong and adventurous in their mind. This means they can often move into fields either political, athletic, medial or sometimes, in law. Gryffindors unknowingly work among Slytherins quite often, because they work the best with one another, because they are naturally competitive with each other. They fuel each other’s fire, and the snake’s ambition keeps the lion’s blood pumping and this is how they work best. The more passive Gryffindor may also tend toward writing of the non-fiction or journalism category, because it is still an outlet for them to get their thoughts out there and keep others informed.

I d e a l - E n v i r o n m e n t

The ideal environment for a Gryffindor is one where there are many people of many kinds, ones they can work off of and therefore work to the best of their ability. They like places that feel like home, as while they do love adventure, they also need a security blanket. As far as literal environment, Gryffindors tend to warmer places, as it keeps their blood pumping and fuels their inner strength. They may tend toward cities, big or small, in hot to moderate dry places.

S e l f - P e r c e p t i o n

How Gryffindors think they see themselves and how they truly see themselves are two very different things. Gryffindors believe they are down-to-Earth, average Joes who want nothing more than to go through life and have fun. In reality, they view themselves as power houses, with a superiority complex on the side. They thrive off of the opinions of others, however, so they rarely take their self-view into account.

L i f e - M i s s i o n

The life mission of a Gryffindor is simply this: To make a difference, to be molded into history, and have plenty of fun midst the process.
